Thanks in great part to our wonderful teachers, our classrooms are certified at the highest level of accreditation, conforming to internationally recognized educational and safety standards by Better Beginnings and the Arkansas Department of Education.
Training & Continuing Education
Our teachers are interviewed independently, background checked and fingerprinted, and have a minimum requirement of a high school education, though many have accomplished a bachelors and masters degree in early childhood education.
Each teacher is required to acquire at least 25 continuing education credits per year, for an accumulation of over 525 hours of training annually through the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS), a best-practice framework that helps early childhood educators create high-quality classroom environments and meaningful learning experiences
Additionally, our teachers receive an intensive, 40 hour training and retraining in Conscious Discipline principles to help provide a positive and safe classroom environment that fosters friendship and positive social skills between children and adults.
Safety & Health
- Over 75% of our teachers, typically 2 per classroom, are certified in CPR and AED, as well as being EpiPen trained.
- Our school is Peanut-Free, and we work with individual parents on an allergy safety plan to prepare for and prevent allergies at school.
- We do a daily wellness check, and require that children with a fever of 100.4 or more, contagious illness, or unidentified rash must remain at home, until they have accomplished 24, symptom free hours.
- Our classrooms maintain a high level of hygiene, requiring handwashing after bathroom use, before eating, after outdoor play. We also clean and sanitize floors, tables, mats, toys, and hard surfaces daily.
- We schedule in play and movement as a foundation of childhood development, and encourage daily sunshine and outdoor play when the weather permits.
